# Rich Text Fields
In many places, the application allows users to compose using rich text. In
particular, within [comments](https://developer.close.com/api/resources/comments/list), [note activities](https://developer.close.com/api/resources/activities/notes/list), and notes on
[calls](https://developer.close.com/api/resources/activities/calls/list),
[meetings](https://developer.close.com/api/resources/activities/meetings/list), or
[opportunities](https://developer.close.com/api/resources/opportunities/list).
These rich text fields are exposed as strings, where the content is a restricted
subset of XHTML. All fields must begin and end with `` tags.
Within the body, there are plenty of formatting options:
